Maggie and Joe Kernan,honorary co-chairpersons,invite you to the third annual Jazzed About Art event,to take place at Trio’s Restaurant &Jazz Club from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday,March 25. Danny Lerman and the Herb Wilson Ensemble will perform during this evening of jazz,art,and Creole cuisine. Coordinating the festivities,WUBU’s Gene Walker will emcee. He will also facilitate the live auction of original artworks by local artists and the silent auction of donated items from area businesses and individuals. Tony Droege,known for his expansive oil paintings,will be the featured artist.
Proceeds from the event benefit Memorial Cancer Center’s complementary care services for regional cancer patients. These services include the Pink Ribbon program for breast cancer patients,massage therapy,acupuncture,and yoga classes. The services are provided free of charge to patients of area hospitals and treatment centers. While they have medical,spiritual,physical and social benefits for patients,such programs are generally not covered by insurance.
